Muse

Muse is a personal AI agent developed by Meta, designed to carry out tasks and manage goals on behalf of the user, rather than simply answering questions. It works through conversation, similar to a messaging application, and is available through the Muse app, the muse.ai website and WhatsApp.

The system is powered by Muse Spark, a model developed by Meta for agentic tasks. Muse can browse the internet, fill out forms, send emails, book trips and manage purchases on websites. It continues working in the background once the app is closed, resuming the task when a relevant change occurs or when authorization is needed to proceed.

Each agent runs on Muse Secure VM, a dedicated virtual machine in the cloud that hosts the agent along with the data and credentials of connected services. A separate agent, Sentinel, operates on the same machine and is responsible for authorizing the internet connections Muse makes. The tool has no direct access to passwords or payment methods: these credentials are stored securely and used without being visible to the agent.

For payments, Muse can complete the purchase process on behalf of the user through methods that do not directly expose card or account details to the agent.

Muse retains relevant information from conversations to make suggestions without being prompted, and allows the user to review or delete specific data stored in its memory. Before sensitive actions, such as sending an email or making a purchase, it requests explicit confirmation and keeps a record of activity completed and planned.
