Replit has launched Mobile Apps on Replit, a feature that allows users to describe an idea, create the application, and publish it completely on the App Store using only natural language, without any programming knowledge required.
The Replit platform has incorporated a function that transforms a verbal description of an idea into a functional mobile application ready for publication on the App Store. The system eliminates the need to learn specific programming languages, configure native development environments, or manage certificates and provisioning profiles.
The creation process is based on a conversation with Replit Agent, where users describe the application they want to build. The tool generates code in real time while displaying a preview on a simulated phone. Users can scan a QR code to test the application directly on their mobile device through Expo Go before proceeding with publication.
The functionality allows development of complete applications with advanced capabilities, not just static interfaces. Applications can integrate their own artificial intelligence systems, built-in databases to manage user accounts and content, connectors for payment services, SMS and authentication, as well as hosting and server-side logic to handle backend operations.
According to the company, the goal is to democratize mobile software creation. The platform seeks to reduce the traditional barriers that have made mobile application development a field reserved for developers with specialized knowledge. Possible applications include mobile games, personal productivity tools, applications with AI functionalities, or commerce platforms for businesses.
The publication process has been simplified through automation. Once the Apple Developer account is created, publication on the App Store requires three clicks. This integration contrasts with traditional workflows that can extend for months between the conception of an idea and the public availability of the application.
The feature is available to all Replit users, both from the desktop application and from the mobile version of the platform. Replit positions this tool as a solution for entrepreneurs launching their first product, small businesses seeking mobile presence, and creators with app ideas but without resources for traditional development.
