The new version of the agent platform debuts the internal Cascade architecture, a desktop workspace called Manus Studio with tools for video and video games, and Cue, a standalone app for personal agents.
Manus 2.0 introduces a new architecture and several tools for working with artificial intelligence agents. Its foundation is Cascade, the internal system that coordinates the agent's work and brings in specialized capabilities only when a task requires them. In one tested configuration, Cascade used 23.2% fewer tokens, completed tasks in 28.2% less time and cost 32% less to run than the previous system.
The release adds Cloud Computer, a paid, dedicated cloud environment for projects that need to run continuously, such as the server for a multiplayer game or an automation.
Scheduled tasks evolve into Automations, which start a job when something happens in a connected service, such as a new email, a calendar event, a Slack message or a change in Notion.
The desktop app is renamed Manus Studio, a workspace shared by people and AI for documents, spreadsheets, presentations, Markdown, code, games and video. Its video editor displays the timeline with clips, images, text and audio as separate pieces, so the music can be changed or images replaced without regenerating the entire video, and Manus can then be asked for a new pass based on those edits. It is designed for short pieces, such as 30- to 60-second ads or tutorials, and includes a mode called Alchemy in which Manus takes on the creative direction. Starting from an idea, Manus can handle the research, script, images, editing and music.
Studio also allows Manus, in an authorized session, to use the computer's files, browser and applications, and to learn a workflow it is shown so it can repeat it. With remote control, tasks can be assigned from a phone while the desktop is followed live.
The Game Dev environment combines video, image and code models to create games that can be edited by hand, published via a link and played in multiplayer through Cloud Computer.
The company is also introducing Cue, a standalone app in which each agent has its own email address, phone number, wallet for payments within a budget and computer. Agents can answer calls and leave a summary, and several of them can collaborate in a group chat with a shared goal.
Manus 2.0 and Cue are now available on the web, desktop and mobile, with the iOS versions pending App Store review. Cue is in early access and free to use with an invite code.
