Claude Design, Anthropic Labs’ new AI-powered design tool

Anthropic has introduced Claude Design, a new product developed by Anthropic Labs that allows users to generate and edit visual material — from interactive prototypes to presentations and landing pages — through conversations with its artificial intelligence model.

The tool is powered by Claude Opus 4.7, the company's most advanced vision model, and is available in research preview for users on Claude's Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans.

Claude Design's workflow starts with a text description: from there, the model generates a first version of the design. Users can then refine it through inline comments, direct element editing, or model-generated sliders to adjust spacing, colour and layout. If a team grants access to its codebase or design files, the tool can automatically apply the organisation's own styles and components to every project.

Intended uses include creating interactive prototypes from static mockups, building product flows to hand off to development teams, producing presentation materials and generating visual assets for marketing campaigns. The resulting files can be exported in various formats — PDF, PPTX, HTML — or sent directly to platforms such as Canva, with which Anthropic has announced an integration.

The tool also includes a handoff function to Claude Code: when a design is ready to be implemented as a functional product, the system generates an information package that can be passed directly to Anthropic's coding environment.

Claude Design is included in current subscription plans at no additional cost, though usage is subject to each plan's limits. In Enterprise organisations, the tool is disabled by default and must be enabled by administrators in the system settings.
